We develop customized teaching plans dependent on what is needed for the preparatory and undergraduate students who wants to enter their first-choice school in the UK.

The tutorial can include the following:

  • Tips and advice on how to select the best and most representative pieces of your work to showcase in the portfolio.

  • Guidance on how to photograph, scan or digitally present your work in the best possible way.

  • Information on how to organize and lay out the portfolio.

  • Advice on how to prepare for and present the portfolio during interviews or reviews.

  • Information on how to use the portfolio as a tool for self-promotion and networking.

The tutorial may be provided in person or online 1-1. The tutor will provide feedback and critique of the student's portfolio throughout the tutorial process.

Stage 1: Initial consultation and evaluation

For all enquiries for the portfolio tutoring, you will speak directly with the tutor who will make a professional evaluation of your work based on your skills, level, artistic flair, and director. Upon the initial consultation, the tutor will discuss objectively what needs improving, developing, and directing.

The tutor will discuss goals, current education, and applications for schools.

Stage 2: Personalized curriculum

The tutor will then create a personalized curriculum planning schedule for the student.

Each student is different dependent on need. The tutor may suggest 10 hours in total or 40 hours or more. It will be dependent on how many lessons the tutor believes you should undertake to successfully complete a Fashion Portfolio. It also depends on your deadlines and scheduling, so the days could be spread out or made more intensive dependent on the availability of tutor and student.

Stage 3: Development and Training

The curriculum will carry out sessions where the tutor will highlight the areas of development and the training that is needed to improve the portfolio.

During this time it is an intensive shift from old ways of working into a new, progressive direction of art, design, layout and cultivating a sharp eye. The tutor will encourage the student to form critical thinking and how to apply this within their work to deeply develop their skills and creative potential.

Stage 5: Layout

The tutor will guide the student on layout that is clear, engaging and thought provoking.

Digital and physical portfolios are different and will need separate editing.

All students need 3 portfolios:
1. Digital Sample Portfolio
2. Digital Full Portfolio
3. Full Physical Portfolio

Stage 4: Organization & Editing

The tutor will guide the student on the organization and editing process by advising on the work that is best representation of the students abilities, whilst helping the student to form their unique identity and signature.

Stage 6: Review and Final Feedback

After completing the portfolio, the tutor will give final feedback and any changes that need to be made.

The tutor will go through the areas of development the student will need to make moving forward, as the portfolio is forever being altered and added to. Presentation, creative hand drawing, research interpretation, design and layout are fully explored.

The tutor will make sure there is a high-quality level for all 3 portfolios that can be then sent for applications or internships.
