Outline: This is a short but intensive Draping course, devoted to the art and techniques of draping on the stand. Draping is an intuitive and artistic form of pattern making. This course is suited to those interested in working in 3-D and directly on the stand. Through the course you will learn draping and pattern cutting skills, with the emphasis on draping on the stand in different ways. The course will take you through 4 modules:

  • Module 1: Technical Draping

  • Module 2: Technical Draping to Technical Pattern Cutting

  • Module 3: Understanding and experimenting the concept of intuitive draping.

  • Module 4: Garment - Drape, Cut, Sew


Technical Drawing / Tech Pack Intensive

Level: Beginner/Intermediate
Duration:
2 days, 9am- 3pm or equivalent 10 hours

In studio only

This short and intensive course is for students, emerging designers, small brand team training who want to improve their technical drawing skills and communications with seamstresses, factories, and pattern cutters. It is also a valuable entry level position skill and extremely desirable skill for recruiters and design teams.

You will be taught to understand the format and standards expected within the fashion industry when creating tech packs or technical drawings. Terminology and annotations are also of incredible importance, otherwise the factory, seamstress or pattern cutter will misinterpret your drawing and you may end up with a garment that you did not intend!
